Team

The Cloud Practices at GFT are responsible for delivering large, Engineering First, engagements focussing on Financial Services and Insurance Sectors clients and partnered with all 3 major Cloud Providers.

In addition, they also work closely with global colleagues across GFT to build our market offerings and drive and develop technical standards.

 

Role Summary 

 

Senior Cloud Engineers are responsible for leading and delivering Cloud First technical transformation to GFT clients, typically within global banking and insurance sectors.

In this role, you will be highly skilled across a breadth of technologies, able to mentor and lead small teams, contribute to thought leadership in your area of specialism and be a key member of your client delivery team.

Senior Cloud Engineers are part of a wider practice aligned to a specific cloud provider, reporting to Cloud Architect.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Sets and maintains coding & engineering standards focussed on Cloud and Infrastructure as Code
  • Able to lead small teams using Agile methods to deliver technical change
  • Contributes to internal GFT thought leadership and Practice development
  • Drives and delivers technical change on client engagements
  • Contributes to pre-sales activities & thought leadership including blog posts to build GFT profile

 

Required Experience

Technical Skills:

  • Holds Azure Certification i.e. AZ400
  • Expert knowledge of CI/CD tools, holds certification (e.g., Terraform, Git, Jenkins, Artifactory, ADO, etc)
  • Highly skilled in Linux & Windows operating systems
  • Experience in containerisation, holds Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
  • Security aware, knowledge of Zero Trust models
  • Experience in another cloud technology (AWS or GCP) an advantage

The majority of our roles are determined by client requirements but the expectation is that you will be required on client site 1 or 2 days a week (this may vary depending on client requirements and could go up or down). From a non-client standpoint, we encourage everyone to travel into a GFT office periodically to build a rapport with the wider GFT team and to ensure you feel connected with your peers/colleagues.
