Team
The Cloud Practices at GFT are responsible for delivering large, Engineering First, engagements focussing on Financial Services and Insurance Sectors clients and partnered with all 3 major Cloud Providers.
In addition, they also work closely with global colleagues across GFT to build our market offerings and drive and develop technical standards.
Role Summary
Cloud Architects at GFT are Technical Leaders. Highly skilled multiple technical disciplines they take a lead role in delivering technical transformation programmes to GFT clients, typically within global Banking and Insurance sectors.
In this role, you will have deep knowledge of a specifc Cloud provider, and be able to demonstrate a breadth of knowledge across both Infrastructure and Application architectures.
You will be able to lead teams and engagements using agile methods, demonstrate consulting expertise, provide thought leadership and enable and drive change for both clients and within GFT.
Role Responsibilities
- Creates design and engineering standards
- Responsible for design quality, capable of reviewing and enhancing others designs
- Able to lead teams using agile methods
- Mentors others on recommended practice for cloud architecture and design
- Leads technical aspects of sales proposals
Required Experience
Technical Skills:
- Holds AWS Certifications (1 x Professional and/or 1 Speciality, 2 or more Associate level)
- Knowledge of a second Cloud Provider either Azure or GCP
- Highly skilled in most Infrastructure disciplines
- Understanding of modern application architecture
- Expert knowledge of CI/CD and IaC toolsets
Behavioural Skills:
- Ability to work in a modern and agile organisation with a start-up mindset
- Ability to lead a dispersed team allocated to a variety of projects
- Sets clear goals and consistently delivers against them
- Capable of leading client workshops with ‘C’ level stakeholders
- Responsible for the professional development of up to 6 team members

The majority of our roles are determined by client requirements, but the expectation is that you will be required on client site 1 or 2 days a week (this may vary depending on client requirements and could go up or down).
