Team

Retail banking team Role Summary

  • Establish the overarching architectural vision for the programme. Drive a roadmap of architectural activities and develop architects through regular coaching, mentoring sessions and providing continuous feedback.
  • Support delivery with onboarding and retention of diverse and talented software engineers and architects.
  • Provide technical leadership to support the timely delivery of technical solutions, lead technical delivery of secure, high quality and well tested and scalable software applications. Advocate engineering best practices across the programme and maintain a set best practice documents.
  • Technology stakeholder management and engagement, building strong relationships with key tech stakeholders in the client. Manage the relationship with third parties integrating into the core application.
  • Continuously improving engineering practices to drive productivity improvements, reduce cost and improve pace of change with increased automation.
  • Ensure technology controls compliance for effective risk and regulatory management.
  • Contribute to white papers and thought leadership articles as well as ensuring case studies are written for client projects.
  • Support the Client Solution Directors in our innovation agenda, identifying what new tech is relevant for their client to drive the plan to operate effectively.
  • Travel is required to client site

 

Ideal profile

 

  • A deep understanding of multiple programming languages to enable effective oversight and guidance to your development teams.
  • A profound understanding of cloud architecture and services. Your expertise should span major cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, allowing you to make informed decisions about infrastructure, scalability, and security. This includes knowledge of design patterns, microservices, and other architectural paradigms to ensure the long-term viability of applications.
  • comprehensive grasp of DevOps practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), is essential. This ensures the seamless and efficient flow of code from development to production environments.
  • Effective communication with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non- technical stakeholders is paramount. Leadership to guide and inspire your team.
  • Client relationship management to cultivate strong partnerships involves understanding client needs, managing expectations, and delivering solutions that exceed expectations.
  • The ability to swiftly grasp new technologies and methodologies ensures your consultancy remains at the forefront. Fostering a culture of continuous learning among your team enhances their adaptability and keeps skills sharp.
  • Effective project management to balancing timelines, resources, and client requirements demands a keen organizational acumen. By instilling a project-centric mindset within your team, you ensure successful project deliveries that align with both client expectations and business goals.
  • Strong team collaboration to foster an environment where diverse talents meshes seamlessly to achieving optimal results. This ties into effective talent management, where you identify, nurture, and leverage the strengths of each team member.
  • Risk management with a keen eye for security and compliance to ensure cloud solutions are not only innovative but also robust and protected against potential threats
  • Experience with regulatory controls in a banking environment, such as PCI DSS, DORA, FCA standards, GDPR, ISO 27001/2, SWIFT.

The majority of our roles are determined by client requirements, but the expectation is that you will be required on client site or at a GFT office 2-3 days a week (this may vary depending on client requirements and could go up or down). From a non-client standpoint, we encourage everyone to travel into a GFT office periodically to build a rapport with the wider GFT team and to ensure you feel connected with your peers/colleagues.
