Let's Go Beyond the Hype_
GFT Financial Ltd is a fintech consultancy specialising in technology systems integration across banking and financial services. We work at the centre of some of the industry's most complex modernisation programmes — partnering with tier 1 banks, asset managers, and asset servicers to turn legacy platforms into modern, data-driven operations. This role sits inside one such programme, for a tier 1 investment bank navigating the transition from SimCorp Dimension to SimCorp's modern, cloud-native SimCorp One model.
We're not looking for someone to just implement a spec — and we're not looking for a delivery or programme lead either. We're looking for someone with genuine platform and product depth, whether their background reads “Architect” or “Business Analyst,” who can turn a complex product evolution into a credible target-state plan that others can build against.
Role Summary
Seeking a Lead SimCorp Techno-Functional Solution Architect to define the target-state architecture for the transition from SimCorp Dimension toward SimCorp's modern, cloud-native operating model (SimCorp One or equivalent SaaS architecture), within an Asset Management environment at a tier 1 investment bank.
This is a hybrid role by design: architectural depth combined with strong business-analysis instincts. The person needs to move fluently between the technical target-state (data models, integration architecture, platform capability) and the functional/operational reality (how IBOR, accounting, compliance and trading workflows actually run today, and what breaks or changes as the platform evolves). The emphasis throughout is platform and product knowledge, not hands-on configuration or coding.
Key Responsibilities
-
Define target-state architecture and a phased roadmap for the move from SimCorp Dimension to a modern SimCorp SaaS/cloud-native model.
-
Translate business and operational requirements — from Operations, Risk, and Finance stakeholders — into architectural and functional specifications for the target platform.
-
Assess the current SimCorp Dimension estate, including existing workflows and data usage, and advise on rationalization priorities ahead of migration.
-
Design enterprise data models and integration architecture aligned to a modular, API-driven ecosystem (custodians, analytics providers, EMS platforms, external reporting tools).
-
Map current-state operational and data workflows to the target SimCorp One model, identifying functional gaps and process impacts — not just technical ones.
-
Advise on data quality, governance, and operational readiness through the transition.
-
Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and delivery teams — translating in both directions rather than sitting purely on one side.
-
Provide architectural and product guidance to delivery teams as the technical and functional authority — not the delivery owner.
-
Collaborate with business, technology, and SimCorp/vendor stakeholders to validate decisions and de-risk the transition.
-
Advise on how the surrounding Azure data platform and infrastructure should evolve alongside the SimCorp product change.
Required Experience
-
8+ years in a Solution Architecture, Techno-Functional Architecture, or senior Business Analysis role within capital markets or asset management technology.
-
Strong, current knowledge of the SimCorp Dimension Data Warehouse and platform, including how it's used operationally (IBOR, accounting, compliance, trading).
-
Working understanding of SimCorp One's architecture and capabilities — cloud-native infrastructure, modular deployment, API connectivity — and what the product evolution means for existing Dimension clients.
-
Demonstrated ability to work both technically (data models, integration, architecture artefacts) and functionally (requirements gathering, process mapping, stakeholder workshops).
-
Deep understanding of Asset Management and investment data (IBOR/ABOR, accounting, compliance, trading workflows).
-
Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure data services — enough to advise credibly, even if not the primary focus.
-
Strong SQL and data modelling skills.
-
Comfortable operating as an advisor and technical/functional authority rather than a delivery or programme lead.
Nice to Have
-
SimCorp Certified Professional (Dimension and/or SimCorp One).
-
Direct exposure to a live or completed Dimension-to-One (or equivalent SaaS) transition.
-
Formal Business Analysis background or certification (e.g., BCS, CBAP) alongside architecture experience.
-
Azure certifications.
-
Experience with cloud-based data platforms and governance frameworks.
Ideal Candidate
Someone who doesn't fit neatly into “Architect” or “BA” — they've likely held both types of titles across their career, or one title while doing both jobs. They can sit in a room with Operations stakeholders and extract what actually needs to change, then go and turn that into a credible target-state architecture without needing a separate BA to translate for them. They lead through platform fluency and functional credibility, not through owning delivery timelines or managing a team.
