ServiceNow IT CMDB Analyst

As a ServiceNow IT CMDB Analyst, you will be responsible for administering and executing the configuration management process and ensuring CMDB data integrity. This role works closely with the IT ServiceNow System Administrator and all process owners within Central IT.



Job responsibilities:


  • Functions as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the ServiceNow CMDB to include the CMDB Governance Process, Business Applications and Services, Support Groups, Computer Endpoints and Software Packages
  • Assisting in developing standard IT configuration management methodology and the delivery of a single source of truth for all Configuration Items (e.g. Business Applications, Business Services, Servers, Databases, Computer Endpoints, Software Application Packages and their relationships)
  • Supports the development of CMDB policy, processes and knowledge base
  • Works to improve Configuration Item data integrity regarding classes, naming conventions, attributes, data sources, and relationships
  • Management and continual improvement of Auto Discovery processes and procedures, ensuring alignment with ITIL and ServiceNow recommendations for CMDB and Discovery configurations
  • Assists Configuration manager in conducting configuration audits and reconciliation
  • Maintains Configuration Items to ensure CMDB accuracy and completeness and provide dashboard reports.
  • Drives visibility on unauthorized CI changes or alterations to environment
  • Works with other ITSM processes to understand new requirements and identify how Configuration management can support
  • Support and administer the tool for configuration and asset management, ServiceNow Discovery, and additional applications or modules as assigned
  • Perform SDLC activities required to enhance the Service Now platform
  • Responsible for conducting formal and informal training sessions with business and technical end users
  • Provide change, incident & problem management backup support
  • Support internal audits and regulatory examinations with all regulations
  • Provide 24/7 escalation management support on a rotational basis





  • At least 2 years of ServiceNow IT Operations experience
  • 4 years of experience working in global enterprise
  • Expert knowledge of IT Configuration and Asset Management processes
  • Expert knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB
  • Excellent command of English
  • Understanding of ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping tools
  • Familiar with the processes that consume CMDB data e.g. Incident, Problem, SDLC, Asset, and Change
  • Solution Oriented mind set & be able to provide recommendations for the current and future platform
  • Excellent analytical, and problem solving skills on maintaining CMDB data integrity
  • 5 years of experience in regulated environment
  • ITIL Foundation v3 or v4 certification
