Role Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer with hands-on experience in Spring Boot and Kotlin to join our engineering team. This role will focus on developing robust, scalable microservices and integrating innovative technologies like GenAI into backend solutions.

The ideal candidate will be a strong individual contributor with a proactive mindset, capable of owning features end-to-end, and eager to work on mission-critical applications for global financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Microservice Development: Build, test, and maintain high-performance microservices using Spring Boot and Kotlin
• Event-Driven Architecture: Design and implement asynchronous systems using Kafka or similar messaging platforms
• Cloud & Containerization: Deploy and manage services in Kubernetes environments, preferably on AWS
• Database Management: Work with PostgreSQL (preferably via Amazon RDS), ensure data integrity and performance
• GenAI Integration: Explore and prototype with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, LangChain/Spring AI, or Amazon Bedrock
• Best Practices: Apply software engineering principles including secure coding, automated testing, and performance optimization
• Collaboration: Work closely with frontend engineers, architects, and DevOps to deliver cohesive solutions
• Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with emerging backend technologies and advocate for innovation

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in software development
• 3 - 6 years of backend development experience with Kotlin and Spring Boot
• Exposure to Generative AI concepts: LLMs, prompt engineering, embeddings, LangChain/Spring AI, or AWS Bedrock
• Solid understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture, especially Kafka
• Proficient in container orchestration using Kubernetes
• Experience working with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL on Amazon RDS
• Familiarity with secure coding, test automation, CI/CD, and system performance tuning
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
• Familiarity with GitOps, Helm, or Terraform
• Knowledge of reactive programming models or GraphQL
• Contributions to open-source projects or technical blogs
