About the role:

 

We are searching for a talented Senior Automation QA Engineer who will be a key contributor to the team. This professional will maintain a high bar for quality of our products. This candidate will possess a strong analytical mind, be a technical and creative thinker, have a strong aptitude for problem solving, and have zero tolerance for quality deficiency. The ideal candidate will have excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, along with the fervent desire to continuously learn about different products and technologies. We value humility, a strong work ethic, flexibility, collaboration, technical curiosity, and constant learning. The Senior QA Engineer works closely with developers, Product and Project managers in the delivery of error-free data to assure customer satisfaction with data accuracy, quality, and adherence to standards. The ability to understand and analyze complex data is essential.

 

A day in this role:

 

  • Quality Assurance Strategy: Define the QA approach and establish end-to-end testing processes, including understanding data flows and product requirements.
  • Test Automation: Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using frameworks such as Cypress, Selenium, or Cucumber.
  • Code Analysis & Issue Resolution: Identify and communicate code issues effectively, ensuring a swift turnaround for retests.
  • Data Validation: Profile, analyse, and validate data to identify trends, inconsistencies, and issues, drawing actionable conclusions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with developers, product managers, and project managers to ensure seamless data quality standards and robust documentation.
  • Testing Front-End Solutions: Conduct both manual and automated testing for front-end applications to ensure exceptional user experiences.
  • API Testing: Create and maintain an automated API testing environment to validate backend services and integrations.
  • System Reliability Testing: Utilize tools such as Postman, JMeter, or Insomnia to ensure system stability and reliability.
  • Database Skills: Use SQL and database management systems to validate, analyse, and test datasets effectively
  • Process Improvement: Continuously identify and implement improvements in QA processes, methodologies, and tools to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Agile Development: Work within Agile/Scrum frameworks to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

 

The expertise requested:

 

  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and automation frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with Cypress, including creating and managing test scripts.
  • Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines, preferably with Jenkins.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on experience with Git, Bitbucket
  • Expertise in front-end and API testing
  • Experience with database testing, including DB2 or SQL Server

Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues

Desired or nice to have expertise:

  • Familiarity with test management tools such as TestRail or Zephyr.
  • Familiarity with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber with Gherkin Syntax
  • Knowledge of performance and load testing methodologies.
