About the role:

 

Our organization is focusing a great deal of resource and effort to digitize the enterprise global reporting and insights, so you’ll be part of an important project with high visibility. You will help EMDM team harmonize and regulate how people, processes and technology interact within our data ecosystem and facilitate this data connectivity. As a Salesforce Data Migration Lead, you will be responsible for the migration of data from legacy CRM applications into our Global Salesforce CRM application. This role will require you to lead conversations with business partners, business analysts, system administrators, and application developers. 

 

A day in this role:

 

  • Engage with key stakeholders to define and document business requirements.
  • Work with the development team to ensure change requests, new fields, new values, etc. are documented and planned for implementation.
  • Negotiate migrations rules for data to be migrated across from legacy CRM systems to Global Salesforce.
  • Obtain approvals from stakeholders for data migration rules that drive what data will be migrated.
  • Perform data matching, cleansing, and enrichment activities prior to the data migration on source system data.
  • Develop repeatable SQL scripts for all objects being migrated that align to the migration requirements and business rules.
  • Conduct data migration testing in Salesforce Sandboxes for each object being migrated to ensure a smooth migration at the time of go live.
  • Report on project statuses to stakeholders, internal working teams, and leadership.
  • Adhere to best practices to ensure a smooth migration and adjust where needed.
  • Ensure all policies and processes are adhered to by the migration team and that all activities are documented and backed up on the migration server.
  • Estimate and establish project timelines and ensure they align with development and business timelines.
  • Coordinate production go live cut overs, delta data migrations, and deployments with key stakeholders.
  • Escalate any issues that arise and ensure prompt resolution to ensure the project stays on target.
  • Ensure post – go live activities are tracked, prioritized and items resolved within the established timeline reporting status to the project time and stakeholders.

The expertise requested:

 

  • A bachelor’s degree in information technology or similar.
  • MS Office – Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Hands-on knowledge or previous experience of data management tools and data migration process.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce
  • Working knowledge of SQL script creation, data loading, data cleansing, etc.
  • Minimum 2-3 years working experience in the related field.
  • Strong communication skills and efficiently communicates in English written and spoken.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working virtually full time.
  • Developing and implementing a timeline to achieve targets.
  • Communicate challenges, risks, and issues to the upper management in a timely manner and help resolve problems.
  • Lead data migration execution and planned activities, ensuring the execution of the data migration tasks happen in a timely manner and escalate when there is a slippage.
  • Ensure issue resolution is done in a proper manner and completed on-time.
  • Work with a strong sense of urgency towards getting the work done and deliver each milestone dates and due dates.
