Role Summary 

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will design, build and operate a modern, fully automated, cloud-native platform on AWS for highly regulated financial services environments. You will work within cross-functional product teams and platform teams to deliver reusable infrastructure, scalable deployment patterns and reliable CI/CD pipelines. The role focuses on Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, hybrid cloud operations, observability and high-throughput messaging systems, with a strong emphasis on automation, resilience and engineering excellence. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design and manage automated cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform 
  • Build and maintain modular, reusable Infrastructure as Code and delivery pipelines 
  • Implement and operate container platforms using Kubernetes (EKS) and ECS/Fargate 
  • Support hybrid infrastructure across AWS and on-premise environments 
  • Define and implement SLOs, SLIs, monitoring and alerting strategies 
  • Implement end-to-end observability using Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana and OpenTelemetry 
  • Develop shared DevOps tooling and repeatable deployment patterns 
  • Migrate and modernize legacy infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines 
  • Operate and optimize streaming and messaging platforms such as Kafka/AWS MSK 
  • Work closely with development teams to enable secure, high-frequency and automated releases 
  • Participate in release, change management and on-call rotations 
  • Ensure platform reliability, security, compliance and audit readiness for financial services workloads 

 

Must-have Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native architecture 
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform 
  • Solid experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and containerized environments 
  • Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines 
  • Strong experience in building scalable, fault-tolerant systems in hybrid environments 
  • Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, OpenTelemetry or similar) 
  • Strong knowledge of Kafka/AWS MSK or other messaging systems 
  • Experience with PostgreSQL/RDBMS (preferably Aurora PostgreSQL) 
  • Understanding of DevOps, platform engineering and SRE practices 
  • Experience working in regulated environments (financial services is a strong plus) 
  • Strong ownership mindset and ability to work in fast-paced delivery environments 

 

Nice to have

  • Experience working with Thought Machine Vault 
  • Experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio or AWS App Mesh 
  • Experience with HashiCorp Vault, Packer, Ansible or Pulumi 
  • Experience with AWS Athena and data platform integration 
  • Exposure to DevSecOps tooling (Snyk, SonarQube, OPA, Artifactory/Nexus) 
  • Platform engineering approach (self-service infrastructure, golden paths) 
  • Experience applying AI tools to improve: 
    • IaC generation and refactoring 
    • CI/CD pipeline optimization 
    • automated operations and incident response 
    • observability and performance analysis
