Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Strategic Account Director to join the GFT APAC team based in Vietnam. This pivotal role will drive the growth of GFT’s business in the region, serving as the strategic bridge between our clients’ technology and business leaders, and GFT’s global delivery and innovation teams.
As a senior client partner, you will be responsible for deepening relationships with key financial services clients and ensuring the delivery of world-class technology solutions across domains such as digital banking, cloud engineering, AI, and blockchain. You will act as a trusted advisor to C-level stakeholders—shaping strategic roadmaps, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring that GFT’s capabilities align with clients’ transformation goals.
You will also play a central role in managing and expanding strategic partnerships with leading technology providers in the cloud and distributed ledger (DLT) ecosystems, supporting joint go-to-market initiatives and co-innovation programs to drive mutual business success.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Account Development
- Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities within existing and new accounts, fostering full-service partnerships across technology, operations, and innovation
- Collaborate with GFT's sales and technology teams to shape and close strategic opportunities, from concept to contract
- Manage account financials, contracts, and governance frameworks to ensure commercial health and client satisfaction.
Translate client insights into actionable business development plans, supporting upsell and cross-sell initiatives
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior decision-makers across client organizations, acting as the primary point of contact for strategic engagements
- Develop a deep understanding of client business goals, technology landscape, and transformation priorities, positioning GFT as a long-term strategic partner
- Lead regular client engagements, including weekly/biweekly touchpoints and quarterly business reviews, to ensure alignment, satisfaction, and growth
Partnership & Ecosystem Enablement
- Drive local engagement with GFT's strategic cloud and DLT partners, fostering co-selling and co-delivery initiatives across enterprise and corporate accounts
- Lead the development and execution of Joint Strategic Partner Business Plans, including quarterly reviews focused on revenue growth and partnership performance
- Build and sustain strong relationships with partner account teams, sales leaders, and solution architects to ensure visibility of GFT-led projects within the partner ecosystem
Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with global GFT delivery and engineering teams to ensure seamless execution of client programs
- Provide thought leadership on emerging technology trends and their potential impact on financial services
- Represent GFT at industry and partner events, reinforcing our brand and strengthening our market presence in Vietnam and APAC
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of experience in strategic account management, enterprise sales, or senior IT management roles within the financial services or technology consulting sector
- Proven track record of building and managing large, complex client accounts and delivering transformative technology programs
- Strong understanding of digital transformation, cloud adoption, digital banking, and blockchain/distributed ledger technologies
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic account plans and achieving revenue growth targets
- Exceptional relationship management, negotiation, and communication skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholders (CIO, CTO, COO, etc.)
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach—comfortable operating autonomously in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Fluent in English and Vietnanese
- Existing network within Tier 1 financial institutions in Vietnam is highly desirable
