Role Summary 

 

We are seeking an experienced AI Adoption & Operations Transformation Consultant to support a finance operations transformation initiative within a large financial services organization. 

This role focuses on identifying productivity improvement opportunities, process optimization initiatives, and automation use cases across multiple finance functions. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to analyze current operating processes, uncover inefficiencies, quantify potential benefits, and develop a roadmap of transformation initiatives. 

This is a highly hands-on role requiring strong analytical capability, business process expertise, and the ability to influence stakeholders and drive change in a complex operational environment. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

Finance Operations Assessment 

  • Analyze and document end-to-end finance operations processes across multiple business units. 
  • Develop a deep understanding of current workflows, systems, controls, and operational pain points. 
  • Assess activities such as:  
    • Reconciliation processes 
    • Accounts receivable and collections 
    • Invoice processing 
    • Finance operations workflows 
    • Employee expense management processes (future scope) 

Process Improvement & Automation Analysis 

  • Identify manual, repetitive, and low-value activities that could be streamlined through process improvement, automation, AI, or productivity tools. 
  • Evaluate opportunities based on business value, complexity, dependencies, and expected benefits. 
  • Identify quick wins that can deliver measurable improvements within a short timeframe. 

Business & Technology Assessment 

  • Map business processes, system interactions, and operational dependencies. 
  • Assess the feasibility of proposed improvements and identify enabling capabilities or constraints. 
  • Help business stakeholders understand what can be delivered immediately versus what may require broader transformation initiatives. 

Transformation Roadmap Development 

  • Build a prioritized pipeline of initiatives, including:  
    • Business rationale 
    • Expected benefits 
    • Dependencies 
    • Implementation considerations 
    • Effort estimates 
  • Support strategic planning and budgeting activities through the development of a multi-year transformation roadmap. 

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Enablement 

  • Conduct workshops, interviews, and process reviews with stakeholders across the organization. 
  • Influence stakeholders to adopt more efficient ways of working and embrace digital solutions. 
  • Promote practical adoption of productivity-enhancing tools and approaches while longer-term transformation initiatives are being developed. 
  • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to both business and technology audiences. 

Data-Driven Analysis 

  • Perform process and data analysis to understand transaction volumes, operational effort, and improvement opportunities. 
  • Validate assumptions through data sampling and evidence-based assessments. 
  • Quantify potential productivity and efficiency gains. 

 

Required Skills & Experience 

 

Experience 

  • 10+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Process Improvement, Operational Excellence, Transformation, or Consulting roles. 
  • Proven track record of driving process optimization and productivity improvement initiatives. 
  • Experience working in large and complex organizations with multiple stakeholder groups. 

Finance Operations Expertise 

  • Strong understanding of finance operations processes, including: Accounts Payable; Accounts Receivable; Reconciliation; Invoice management; Operational finance processes 
  • Ability to engage confidently with finance and operations stakeholders. 

Industry Experience 

  • Insurance industry experience strongly preferred. 
  • Financial services experience will also be considered. 

Business Transformation & Technology 

  • Experience supporting digital transformation, automation, AI, or operational efficiency initiatives. 
  • Strong process mapping and business architecture skills. 
  • Ability to bridge business and technology discussions and assess operational impacts of proposed solutions. 

Stakeholder Management 

  • Strong influencing, facilitation, and communication skills. 
  • Ability to engage senior stakeholders, challenge existing ways of working, and build consensus around change. 
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous environments and independently driving discovery activities. 

Personal Attributes 

  • Highly analytical and curious. 
  • Able to learn complex business processes quickly. 
  • Self-starter with strong ownership and accountability. 
  • Hands-on and comfortable working directly with data, processes, and end users.
