What will you do? 

 

As a Junior Cybersecurity Specialist in Vulnerability Management area you will be responsible for handling and development of Vulnerability and Patch Management processes. 
You will work closely with System Owners and System Administrators to help mitigating security vulnerabilities and to make sure that IT processes comply with cybersecurity requirements.

 

Your tasks

 

  • Assist in scanning systems and applications for known vulnerabilities using standard tools
  • Review vulnerability reports, validate findings and help prioritize remediation based on severity and risk (following existing procedures)
  • Prepare tickets for IT owners and handle them until they are resolved
  • Monitor compliance and report on status, escalate issues or delays
  • Help monitoring patching status across operating systems, applications, and network devices
  • Support and verify the deployment of security patches, propose enhancements in case of deficiencies
  • Collaborate with IT teams to prepare and implement dedicated Patch Management documentation describing technical details regarding patching schedules, implementation and monitoring
  • Propose extensions to existing Patch Management process and procedures (after gaining some experience in company inner workings)
  • Follow organizational security policies and industry best practices
  • Assist in ensuring systems meet compliance requirements
  • Stay updated on common vulnerabilities (CVEs) and patching techniques
  • Choose areas for future development (possibilities include Cloud Vulnerability Process, offensive security, pentests, red teaming and more)

 

Your skills

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Basic understanding of general IT, cybersecurity principles and risk management
  • Foundational knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux), networks and applications
  • Knowledge of CVE databases and patch management principles
  • Proficiency with office tools (Microsoft Office) for reporting
  • Ability to perform basic administrative tasks in Linux environment
  • Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g. Nessus) - nice to have
  • Familiarity with entry-level frameworks (OWASP, CIS benchmarks, NIST) - nice to have
  • Introductory scripting or automation experience (Bash, Python, PowerShell) - nice to have
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, open to other cultures
  • Good communication skills for reporting and coordination
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies
