Łódź, PL, 90-118 Kraków, PL, 30-302 Poznań, WP, PL, 61-569 Warszawa, PL, 00-839
Type of contract: employment contract
Salary range: 15200 - 30500 PLN gross/month
Your profile:
We are seeking a professional and highly experienced Test Architect to shape and oversee the entire quality engineering strategy across our organization. You will be the key individual responsible for designing our testing ecosystem, defining technical standards, and ensuring our engineering processes are scalable, efficient, and world-class.
This role demands deep technical expertise in automation, a profound understanding of DevOps practices, and the ability to think strategically. You will work closely with Software Architects, DevOps, and Product Management to build quality into every phase of the product development lifecycle.
Key responsibilities:
- Define Quality Strategy: Create and evangelize the long-term quality vision and testing strategy (including functional and non-functional) for all products in the organization
- Test Architecture: Design and govern the architecture of test automation frameworks (UI, API, Mobile). Ensure these frameworks are scalable, reusable, and maintainable across multiple teams
- Tooling R&D and Evaluation: Lead research (R&D), conduct Proofs of Concept (PoCs), and make strategic "build vs. buy" decisions for critical tooling (e.g., device farm orchestration, test management platforms)
- DevOps & CI/CD Partnership: Act as a key stakeholder for the DevOps team to design and optimize "quality gates" within CI/CD pipelines. Define quality metrics and ensure a rapid, reliable feedback loop for developers
- Standards & Governance: Establish and enforce organizational standards for test code, code reviews, source control strategy (Git/Bitbucket), and test environment management
- Non-Functional Testing: Drive the strategy and implementation of non-functional testing at an architectural level, including performance, load, and security
- Mentorship & Influence: Serve as the top-level technical authority and mentor for L4 (Senior) engineers. Champion a culture of "quality as a shared responsibility" and "shift-left" testing across the entire engineering department
- Test Data Management (TDM): Design and implement robust strategies for test data management (TDM) and data provisioning for automation.
Requirements:
- Experience: Extensive (e.g., 8+ years) background in quality engineering, including significant experience in a leadership or architectural role
- Quality Engineering Strategy: Expertise in defining the technical roadmap and governance for global testing infrastructures. Experience in selecting and scaling testing platforms (Cloud/Hybrid) to ensure high-volume execution, reliability, and broad environment coverage across the entire software development lifecycle
- Automation Expertise: Mastery in designing and building complex automation frameworks from the ground up. Polyglot proficiency in multiple programming languages
- DevOps & CI/CD Expertise: Knowledge of DevOps practices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD architecture. Ability to design pipelines, not just use them
- Database: Advanced proficiency in SQL and an understanding of database architecture sufficient to design TDM strategies.
- Non-Functional: Documented experience in architecting and implementing large-scale performance and security testing initiatives
- Soft Skills: Strategic mindset, systems-level thinking, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to influence C-level and Director-level stakeholders
- Agile: Deeply rooted in Agile principles with the experience to scale those practices across a large organization.
Nice to have:
- Experience implementing Chaos Engineering
- Familiarity with application security standards
- Experience in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and managing infrastructure as code (IaC)
- Active participation in the QA community (e.g., conference speaking, publications).
