What will you do?

 

As a Junior Application Support Engineer, you will be responsible for resolving Application Support requests and incidents for a critical trading application used by a Top Tier Investment Banks. You will be working directly with Business and IT users, so must have strong client facing skills. You will follow the best practices to deliver quality in all aspects of Level 2 support.  You will participate on an out of hours on-call support rota and performing occasional weekend work. 

 

Your tasks

 

  • Monitoring, detecting and troubleshooting issues in Linux application environments,
  • Responding to queries regarding application functionality,  
  • Working with vendors on upgrades,
  • Preparing and testing software and configuration changes as well as some shell scripting to automate common tasks.  

 

Requirements

 

  • Min. 2 years of experience  as 1st or 2nd Line of Application Support Engineer
  • Strong client facing and communication skills
  • Fluent English
  • Practical knowledge of Linux/Unix systems
  • Practical knowledge of SQL
  • Basic bash and python scripting knowledge
  • Ability to solve problems independently
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Availability to work in shifts
  • General CI/CD (DevOps process) knowledge - BitBucket Pipelines knowledge welcome 

 

Nice to have

 

  •  AWS experience, Kubernetes, Splunk
