About the Role_

As a Platform Engineer, you will work with agile teams to build, operate, secure and scale solutions on the public cloud. You will provision and maintain infrastructure following infrastructure-as-code best practices, support the migration of infrastructure and applications from on-premises data centers to AWS, and build container platforms and CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with cross-functional teams across a large organization.

You will provision and maintain infrastructure following infrastructure-as-code best practices, support the migration of infrastructure and applications from on-premises data centers to AWS, and build container platforms and CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with cross-functional teams across a large organization.

A day in this role_

- Work with agile teams to build, operate, secure and scale solutions on the public cloud.
- Build, deploy and maintain infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code best practices with cross-functional teams.
- Build solutions using tools such as Terraform, Ansible and Jenkins.
- Migrate infrastructure and applications from on-premises data centers to AWS.
- Build, test and deploy containers and container platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift, EKS, ECS, Fargate).
- Create and maintain CI/CD jobs and pipelines using configuration files (Jenkinsfiles) and AWS CI/CD tools.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting of cloud and on-premises data center technologies across many environments.
- Monitor platform and application health using APM tools such as Dynatrace and CloudWatch.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a very large organization.

The expertise requested_

- Previous experience migrating infrastructure and/or applications from data centers to public cloud.
- General troubleshooting knowledge of security, networking and Linux OS technologies.
- 3+ years of experience with Linux operating systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, Amazon Linux).
- 3+ years of experience with Linux container technologies (Docker).
- 3+ years of experience with container orchestration: Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS EKS, AWS ECS and AWS Fargate.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Glue (critical).
- 3+ years of experience with source code management (Git).
- 3+ years of experience with shell scripting, Python or similar languages.
- 3+ years of experience writing infrastructure provisioning code with HashiCorp Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
- Experience writing code with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef or Puppet.
- 3+ years of experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools, including building pipelines with Jenkinsfiles.
- Experience building, testing and deploying containers, including test automation.
- Experience with AWS CI/CD tools.
- Experience with application performance monitoring tools such as Dynatrace or CloudWatch.
