Role Summary 
We are looking for an Strategic Account Director to join the GFT APAC team and help build our rapidly expanding business, while striving to ensure world class technology solutions and services are realized by our clients. This position is based in Hong Kong and will act as the focal point between global GFT teams, and our clients’ technology, operations, and commercial teams in Hong Kong.
As an Strategic Account Director, you will establish strong relationships with our clients and their senior leaders; you’ll be their advocate, ensuring they’re receiving exceptional services from our industry-leading technology and business experts in the domains such as digital banking, cloud engineering and blockchain. Additionally, you’ll be comfortable and confident in managing expectations and establishing strategic services roadmaps to ensure continued growth and upsell opportunities in new and existing accounts. Daily, you’ll collaborate internationally with colleagues, clients, and partners throughout Asia and Europe.
In addition, you would be expected to drive partnership enablement activities across our Hong Kong based Technology Partners in the Cloud and DLT space, with the objective to foster local business development activities with these partners. GFT has made a substantial commitment to the current strategic partners by having a dedicated team and committing to develop a joint business plan that mutually benefits both parties, and which operates across GFT globally.

 

Key Activities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with senior-level stakeholders at new and existing accounts in Hong Kong.
  • Learn and become ingrained in the client's business objectives; understand them, and position GFT to drive success in achieving such objectives.
  • Maintain active dialogue with clients through weekly/biweekly meetings and quarterly business reviews.
  • Effectively communicate GFT's service offerings and capabilities to address technology challenges and opportunities in new and existing accounts.
  • Develop knowledge of GFT's offerings to position diverse technology solutions.
  • Proactively seek and monitor client satisfaction; obtain structured and informal feedback to identify areas to improve GFT’s offering.
  • Identify and develop new opportunities with new and existing clients, with the aim of establishing full-service partnerships
  • Own and support the management of client financials, contracts, and agreements.
  • Participate in the sales cycle and partner with sales and technology teams to strategically position GFT solutions and services.
  • Development of the Joint Strategic Partner Business Plan and leading the Quarterly Business Review with a view to increasing joint revenue and to maintain GFT's position as a key provider to the Partner .
  • Working closely with the designated partnership teams on all aspects of our joint Professional Services offerings focusing on both Enterprise and Corporate accounts across Financial Services.
  • Build and further develop our key relationships with the Partner, having a wide and deep relationship with the key partner and sales personal including our key sponsors. 
  • Work closely with our Delivery Management teams and Customer Engineers to ensure that the projects are visible within Partners' organization.

 

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in account management, sales, or senior IT management roles, in the financial services sector.
  • Familiarity with technology consultancy and delivery, partnering with relevant teams in sales and/or account management capacities.
  • Problem-solving with a sense of ownership and track record in building strong relationships across various departments in client accounts.
  • Proven experience as a technical, service-focused, or functional domain account manager on large accounts.
  • Appreciation of complex technologies such as digital banking, cloud engineering, digital transformation and blockchain.
  • An ability to grasp customers’ needs and suggest timely solutions.
  • Start-up mentality (lean startup; agile), able to operate independently.
  • Creative attitude and keen to proactively seek grow accounts and identify upsell opportunities.
  • Joy of building things from scratch.
  • Excellent written and verbal use of English and Cantonese
  • Contacts in Tier 1 financial services organizations, with a presence in Hong Kong, is advantageous.
