Here’s What You’ll Be Doing:
We’re looking for an Equity Derivatives Full Stack Engineer for our Americas region. The successful candidate will join as a senior technical developer who is responsible to design, develop, test, release, and support the US Equity Derivatives desk. The candidate will work on small to medium-term projects directly with the US Equity Derivatives desk using technologies such as Python, Excel/VBA, C#, kdb, and Java. This includes supporting existing applications as well as developing new applications based on the needs of the desk.
- Front line support of a 24/5.5 production of the Equity team for both internal and external clients. Incident and problem resolution, maintenance and deployment of application software
- Ensure all production incidents, service requests and problems logged and resolved in the banks systems
- Producing and using SQL / KDB queries to provide ad-hoc requested information to stake holders and continuously assist in problem resolution
- Operate as part of a shift rotation, covering the hours of 07:00 – 18:30 including some bank holidays
- Weekend and evening coverage if required
- Perform weekend application upgrade, configuration and patching across multiple environments in line with requirements and procedures
- Develop and maintain responsive web applications for banking and equity trading platforms.
- Involved with all phases of Equity Derivatives Technology projects which may include but are not limited to requirements gathering/analysis, design, architecting, project managing, hands on development and implementation.
- Build strategic Equity Derivatives trading infrastructure and migrate existing legacy solutions to target architecture involving analyzing, understanding existing tools (Excel/VBA) and either re-designing/re-writing them in a target framework (of either Java or C#) or partially re-designing them to start the path towards demise
- Provide technical support of our Equity Derivatives pre-trade and execution stack. This will mean supporting both internal and external clients across both internal and vendor platforms. You will be responsible for incident and problem resolution and ensuring best in class service to our user base.
- The candidate should also have expertise in performing front-to-back trade reporting and reconciliation support. They will be anlysing various feeds into and from our systems, provide ultimate ideas on how to improve the daily operation efficiency and apply hands on experience on its optimisation covering:
- Performing batches environment maintenance and setup
- Resolving and tracking issues and registering them within the incident reporting system
- Understanding the product and providing feedback on reported issues
- Understanding what issues need to be escalated and doing so in a timely manne
Here's What You Need:
- Must have strong technical and development skills
- Must have strong UNIX/LINUX skills
- Must be analytical and have excellent troubleshooting skills
- Must have strong Equity Derivative Trading systems and exchange connectivity experience
- Experience of using either Relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) or noSql databases (Mongo)
- Strong vendor system knowledge (Sophis) is a plus
- SQL / DB – hands-on experience
- Good communication skills, Must be able to interact and work well with traders, back office personnel, vendors, futures business, other IT teams and Clients
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
