This initiative focuses on modernizing Guidewire operational reporting. The existing reports were developed using Actuate BIRT and must be migrated to a modern analytics platform. As part of this transformation, operational reporting will be delivered directly from the enterprise data platform built on Microsoft Azure Databricks, which is refreshed in near real-time. Reports and dashboards will be developed and consumed through Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
Responsibilities
- Lead the modernization of Guidewire operational reports from Actuate BIRT to the client's target analytics platform based on Microsoft Azure Databricks and Microsoft Fabric.
- Design, develop, and implement cloud-based data pipelines leveraging Databricks Asset Bundles (DAB), Python Wheel components, and data ingestion, transformation, and publishing processes.
- Analyze and convert legacy Oracle SQL queries and stored procedures into optimized Spark SQL implementations for the Databricks ecosystem.
- Transform business logic historically embedded within BIRT reports into reusable data pipelines supporting certified Gold Data Products.
- Develop and maintain the analytics layer within Microsoft Fabric, including:
- Fabric Lakehouse

- Semantic Models
- Data security and access control
- Power BI reports and dashboards
- Establish and promote a modern data architecture that supports reusability, governance, performance, scalability, and standardization of analytical assets.
- Collaborate closely with business and technology stakeholders to ensure functional alignment between existing Guidewire reports and newly developed analytical solutions.
