Sales Director & Head Insurance (m/w/d)

As Sales Director, you will be responsible for planning and executing sales and marketing development programs that will meet pre-determined targets and increase our market share. You will leverage your strong network of decision makers in Insurance in Switzerland (additional industries are a plus), to position GFT as strong technology partner and generate new business. At the same time, you bring strong execution skills to lead and work hands-on to the response of complex deals (e.g. RFPs).


The key areas of responsibility for the role are: 

  • Responsible for P&L of Insurance business in Switzerland
  • Create and implement strategic sales and marketing plans that successfully achieve ambitious growth targets, with focus in the Insurance market in Switzerland.
  • Generate, prioritize and lead and execute major sales initiatives, efficiently and with high conversion rates
  • Complete market research (incl. competition analysis) and analyze results to adjust sales and marketing strategy for maximum success
  • Drive client relationship management, both strategically and operationally
  • Develop and lead successful business cases with clients, partners and other GFT international units, which will create new and expand existing revenue streams for GFT Switzerland, with focus to recurring and asset-based revenue
  • Act as Bid-Manager and main contributor for client offers (e.g. RFPs, solution offers)
  • Coach and develop other employees with sales responsibilities (Account & Delivery Managers)


​​​​​​​Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of managerial experience in IT and/or consulting, thereof 5 years in a similar role by an IT Solutions company in Switzerland, focusing on Insurance business
  • Successful track-record in business development and client acquisition for a consultancy firm, service provider or as entrepreneur
  • Strong skills in the elaboration of high-quality client presentations and offers
  • Strong network of relationships with business decision-makers up to C-Level
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able influence at all organizational levels
  • Strong knowledge of MS-Powerpoint, MS-Excel, MS-Word
  • Readiness to travel within Switzerland or in neighboring countries
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in science, combination with an MBA is a strong plus
  • Fluent in German and English, additionally French and/or Italian are a plus
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
