Role Summary


This is an exciting role for an experienced, hands-on cloud specialist, who is passionate about digitization. You will be responsible for designing and architecting customised solutions, using your expertise to support the end-to-end innovation process, from leading architecture and design decisions to hands-on coding and technical validation of the target solution. As a senior expert you will provide technical support and guidance to the squads, play a key role in leading the project and drive a continuous optimisation process, following migration.


Role Responsibilities:


  • Develop, maintain and operate the application environment (Cloud-native Development).
  • Support the planning and drive the implementation of migrations in close cooperation with the customers’ technical teams.
  • Work collaboratively with project delivery leads and other Cloud engineers to effectively deliver the required levels of quality for the customer solutions.
  • Your responsibility also includes the technical coordination with suppliers of Cloud Services.
  • Implement migrations of legacy applications to the cloud, drive continuous optimisation processes to improve stability, speed and/ or costs.


Your Skills and Competencies:


  • Experience as a Cloud Architect and/ or Engineer for a technology company, consulting firm or within the IT department of another organisation (preferably within financial services). 
  • Experience of Cloud migrations, design and architecture is essential. You must be familiar with refactoring, re-platforming and redesigning applications for Cloud and be able to optimise systems in terms of stability, speed and/or costs.
  • Significant experience in using at least one of the three major public Cloud services: GCP, AZURE, AWS (including via API) with strong product knowledge relating to that provider.
  • A professional certification with a public Cloud provider is desirable (support for additional certifications is provided by GFT).
  • Expert knowledge of Linux and/ or Windows based systems is desirable.
  • In-depth experience in networking (TCP/IP, DNS), operation of virtualized systems and a good understanding of the different aspects of security, high availability, scaling and redundant infrastructure. 
  • Application experience with at least one IAM solution from the major public Cloud providers. 
  • Scripting ability (ideally Python or PowerShell).
  • Strong collaboration skills with an agile mindset and strong team spirit. You must be proactive, independent and both solution- and customer-oriented. 
  • Proactive learner with an enthusiasm for keeping specialist knowledge up to date and for learning about new technology.
  • University degree, preferably in computer science or another, relevant, technical or scientific field. 
  • Fluency in English (C1 minimum) is required, German would be advantageous
  • EU/ Swiss citizen or valid Swiss work permit.
