Location: EST - Remote

The new GFT Appian Developer  is an experienced professional with a minimum of 2 years of work experience in Process Design, Appian Process and Interface Development, Maintenance and Deployment.  As an Appian Developer, responsibilities include gathering user requirements, defining system functionality, designing process models and interfaces using Appian, and building integrations to other APIs. Your team will tackle a variety of problems by leveraging innovative technologies to change the Alternative Asset Management industry, devising elegant solutions to important business and technical problems and putting your own best ideas to work in an entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities:

Engage and learn about complex business rules related to financial areas as: Capital Markets, Private Equity and Asset Management

Collaborate with the development of new features and enhancements.

Are eager to identify areas of improvement in the existent systems and feel empowered to proposed and implement creative solutions

Interact constantly and dynamically with BAs, QAs and other peer to clarify business requirements.

Design process modeling solutions that efficiently fit in a existent application ecosystem.

Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures

Have ability to drive projects from inception to completion.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex methodologies and results to the technical team.

Collaborate with the local Unit team initiatives.

 

Mandatory Skills:

BSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field

Work experience as an Appian software engineer (minimum 2 years) or similar low-code workflow systems

Proficient in process modeling, integrations, module enhancements, business rules, and troubleshooting.

Exposing Appian cloud data to external systems using Web APIs, Integrations.

Familiar with the software development life cycle (SDLC) from preliminary system analysis to tests and deployment.

Knowledge of the Principles & Patterns of Agile Software

Preferred Skills:

Ability to understand and troubleshoot existing code and maintain existing systems.

Ability to identity performance bottlenecks.

Experience working with version control tools such as GIT and CI/CD tools like Team City/Jenkins/Octopus.

Experience with building microservices using Python

Knowledge on distributed environments (micro services, AWS, identity server, dockers)

Experience with software quality, testing procedures and build automation tools

Experience with Unit Testing, Mocking and Dependency Injection frameworks
