Role Summary 

We are looking for an Enterprise Architect to take ownership for developing the strategic state architecture and interim states, seeking approval from the appropriate governance committees and communicating to the delivery teams and business partners.

 

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Obtaining approvals from technical design authorities
  • Defining the target state architecture and interim steps from target state, in the context of the overall Risk IT architecture and the technology strategy 
  • Representing GRA on technology and architecture governance committees
  • Presenting to senior IT and business stakeholders
  • Guiding solution architects on developing appropriate detailed designs for approval
  • Communicating GRA architecture designs and principles to the pod leads and technical leads, providing suitable guidance
  • Ensuring alignment with Risk and organisational level architecture principles, practices and strategy
  • Relationship management to the appropriate functional architects in the business domain
  • Defining and managing the overall solution for a technology change or business transformation programme covering both functional and non-functional requirements across multiple teams and workstreams
  • Ensuring the end-to-end design meets the operating model for products, services, geographies, controls and technology
  • Ensuring the end-to-end design a production strength solution that can also meet the future anticipated vision of the business
  • Validation of business vision, drivers and objectives
  • Transformation of Business vision into project deliverables
  • Setting standards for tools and techniques where they do not already exist
  • Providing oversight on the development process
  • Managing the quality of delivery of other architects in the programme
  • Establishing which deliverables are appropriate, and to what detail, over the Business, Information, Application and Technology architectures
  • Has led teams of developers across multiple time zones
  • Experience with vendor management and package implementation
  • Experience of different development methodologies such as waterfall, agile, SCRUM
  • Experience of planning, estimating, staffing, organising, and managing a business-driven technology change programme
  • Has monitored and dealt with critical paths and risks areas
  • Understanding the finance infrastructure in large, global banks

 

 

Competencies and Skills Needed

Mandatory Skills:

  • Experience of modelling within banking or finance, able to demonstrate an understanding of both analytics and modelling lifecycles and changes (ideally in the context of Risk Management)
  • Experience of cloud based system design, ideally hybrid-cloud using Google Cloud Platform (GCP).  Certification would be advantageous
  • Experience of running a globally distributed team of solution architects
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, including the ability to describe complex technology issues simply to non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborative team player
