Date:  20-Apr-2021
City:  London
Company:  GFT Technologies SE

About GFT

GFT is driving the digital transformation of the world’s leading financial institutions. Other sectors, such as industry and insurance, also leverage GFT’s strong technology engineering and implementation skills across all aspects of pioneering technologies, such as cloud engineering, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things for Industry 4.0 and DevOps.

With its in-depth technological expertise, strong partnerships and scalable IT solutions, GFT increases productivity in software development. This provides clients with faster access to new IT applications and innovative business models, while also reducing risk.

GFT’s client engagement model consists of Client Units who are equally represented by sales and delivery.  The CU for this role is managed by a Client Partner who is ultimately  responsible for the overall relationship and revenue generated by that client down to GM1 (e.g. project profitability).  Both Sales and delivery report into the Client Partner: while the sales side is primarily responsible for the commercials of any engagement, the delivery side is responsible for the quality, resourcing and profitability of the engagement.

Role Summary

We are looking for a business facing technologist to join the GFT team who will work for the Client Unit in the position of Delivery Director (DD) and be responsible for the overall Client delivery function..

From the initiation of a project, the DD will engage and ensure that all aspects of delivery are anticipated, including, but not limited to, successful mobilisation, delivery efforts, resourcing, risk and quality together with stakeholder management (alongside sales).  The DD  will engage during pre-sales activities as required and hence should have a technology understanding of GFT’s offerings (and if needed be able to find throughout GFT the support needed for a successful win).  The DD must also be able to influence client decision-making, to present cogent delivery-related arguments that support the GFT agenda. Key activities here include team shaping,  review of any delivery commitments and liaison with our UK practices and our global delivery centres.

Finally, during the engagement and post the engagement, the DD must ensure one thing: delivery excellence.  GFT’s reputation relies on the successful implementation of projects, not just in terms of the time-line and management of risks, but the excellence of our delivery. That includes engagement with the client to ensure continuous improvement; proactive two way feedback; bringing to bear insights and market intelligence; identifying wider opportunities within our accounts; managing things such as change requests; proactive management of unforeseen issues, etc. To that point the DD will act as a first responder – the natural escalation point beyond the project team leadership for client issues, engaging with the Client Partner as required to ensure engagements are brought back on track.

The DD, under the Client Partner, will be responsible for programmes of projects assigned by the Client Partner and must be able to interact and collaborate internationally with GFT’s international delivery units which may be in locations such as Poland, Spain and Brazil in addition to the local UK resources.

The DD will also liaise closely with GFT’s Chief Delivery Officer (CDO) to ensure a consisyency of approach and application of standards is ahered to within the CU.
