We are looking for Business Consultants to join the GFT team and help build our rapidly expanding business.  This position will be based in London, but national and international travel may be required. We have offices in 15 markets and an international staff numbering around 8,000.


GFT is an industry leader in technology engineering, data, and cloud technologies. As a Business Consultant you will work closely with our award-winning software development teams who are often based in our delivery centres in countries such as Spain, Poland and Brazil.


Key Capabilities

This role will carry out some or all the following activities:


  • Two to three years in a major consulting firm or boutique firm
  • Engages with senior business stakeholders, senior technology stakeholders, project, programme managers and product owners
  • Able to analyse business problems and opportunities and apply technological innovation to deliver business outcomes across technology, people, and process domains
  • Works within most critical and complex technology projects - likely to span across multiple business units and / or geographies
  • Collect information about the client’s business through a variety of methods (shadowing, interviews, surveys, reading reports etc.)
  • Analyse and interpret data to unearth weaknesses and problems, and comprehend the causes  
  • Formulate recommendations and solutions with attention to a client’s wishes, capabilities and limitations forming concise reports
  • Present findings and suggestions to clients with ample justification and practical advice
  • Develop detailed business plans to drive small or radical changes
  • Assist the client in implementing the plan and resolve any occasional discrepancies
  • Provide guidance for any occurring problems and issues
  • Experience of Capital Markets, Asset Management, Financial Services and Insurance highly advantageous


Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience with a wide selection of business management software (CRM, ERP etc.) and databases
  • Three to four years’ experience with agile methodologies and/or Design thinking
  • Experience of business design, research and analysis in medium sized programmes

  • Proven experience as business consultant or equivalent
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical mind with excellent data collection and analysis skills
  • Aptitude in creative problem-solving
  • You should be able to clearly demonstrate you are a driven person who has achieved success in your career that goes above the normal.

  • An eye for detail and accuracy, and an affinity with design issues and the ability to help establish an own a vision for our solutions.
  • Organisational ability and tenacity; able to think ahead to establish an efficient and appropriate course of action for self and others.
  • Take a proactive approach to work, good with handling uncertainty and can manage their work without close supervision.
  • A strong sense of ownership and a desire to deliver quality outcomes for the business.
  • Degree level qualification or higher.
