Principal Consultant / Business Analyst / SME (L5)

What we’re looking for:


We are looking for Consultants with a strong banking domain SME knowledge combined with business analysis skillset.



  • Document and understand the current state across stakeholder functions
  • Business process re-engineering; driving and documenting the Target state process ensuring consistency across Business Line and location with appropriate controls
  • Lead on the elicitation and management of requirements, and identify and assess change levers
  • Analyse the impact of changes on current, interim and target state
  • Provide support throughout the design and implementation phases
  • Work with the programme to ensure that the technology solutions are delivering maximum business value
  • Support the PM for business case / project charters
  • Undertake and leverage data analysis for identification of opportunities and recommending options and associated costs
  • Collaborate with other consultants in their client engagements to ensure quality and successful delivery of projects
  • Lead the team of BAs, manage and develop BA team (line management duties)
  • Support the team in running and growing the GFT business and pipeline in the UK
  • Support the team in building intellectual property for GFT as required by the market
  • Support the team in building a great culture and making GFT a great place to work


Required skills:

  • Strong skills in Process Mapping and Business Process Reengineering
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to bring people together
  • Experience in Business Analysis and Financial Services
  • Experience in conceptualisation and solution definition
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving experience
  • Proactive, enthusiastic candidates preferred
  • Candidate must be comfortable working with data and enjoy detailed analysis
  • Strong knowledge and awareness of (related) business solutions in the market
  • Strong knowledge of business analysis methods and tools
  • Awareness of Quality Management tools and techniques
  • Ability to identify and interpret stakeholders needs and requirements
  • Ability to work in self-organising teams and matrixed organisations
  • Ability to commit and prioritise work duties and tasks
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Ability to share information, transfer knowledge and expertise to team members
  • Highly adaptable to a changing environment, can prioritise tasks accordingly and is able to work under pressure, meeting strict deadlines
  • Mentoring and line management skills (including emotional intelligence, healthy delegation, empowerment, active listening etc)
  • Highly motivated, inquisitive, and positive attitude


Accountabilities of the role:

  • Work on clients engagements, either leading or contributing to the common goal (as defined in SOW)
  • Gather, analyse and present data, deliver agreed objectives (as defined in SOW)
  • Synthesise large amounts of information and communicate clearly to a wide range of audiences, providing clarity to complex issues
  • Line management (if applicable)
  • Support growing the GFT business


Key criteria:

  • Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Business, Economics, Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent Business Analysis certification and relevant work experience)
  • Experience with large (>£10mil.) and complex transformation programmes within large companies in change management, either leading workstreams or functional areas
  • Demonstrable thought leadership with an SME knowledge in either Banking, Insurance or Asset Management
  • Strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills (demonstrated e.g. through coursework or relevant work experience)
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and prioritise tasks accordingly
  • Knowledge in MS Office products and tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Fluency in English is essential. Knowledge of other European languages is an advantage
  • Must be prepared to travel (the UK / international travel)
