Alliance Manager – Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Role Summary  

GFT have many Partnerships, which have been categorised into; Strategic; Regional or Technology partnership tiers. For Strategic partnerships GFT’s aim is to align a dedicated Alliance Team who would be responsible for developing the Strategic Partnership Business plan and enabling this plan across the GFT organisation. They would be expected to drive partnership enablement activities across the Group and lead the coordination efforts to ensure that all GFT countries are able to engage with the partnership and foster local business development activities. GFT has made a substantial commitment to the current strategic partners by having a dedicated team and committing to develop a joint business plan that mutually benefits both parties, and which operates across GFT globally. 

The Alliance Manager role is an exciting opportunity to join the existing Global Partner Team, which sits within the Global Business Development (GBD) divisional unit, Cloud@GFT, and will be responsible for driving opportunities within the dedicated strategic Global Cloud partners such as Google, AWS and Microsoft. This team will own the partner relationships and drive revenue through the GFT countries in collaboration with the partners in the; Sell-To; Sell-Through; Sell-With motions, as defined in the Strategic Partnership Business Plan. 

 

The role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone to join a team in its early stages yet growing quickly to help to shape the operation and successful growth of the AWS partnership and be part of an important revenue engine for GFT. 

 
The role carries a bonus structure based on the commercial success of the partnership. 

 

The role reports to the Divisional Head of Cloud@GFT, and will be based in London, but will have Global coverage. 

 

Your principle activities will include:  

  • Development of the Joint Strategic Partner Business Plan and leading the Quarterly Business Review with a view to increasing joint revenue and to maintain GFT’s position as a key partner of AWS. 

  • Manage the Partner Portals (including; Opportunity; Funding; Marketing) and general Partnership tier requirements; coordinating activities that promote GFT through the partnership tiers; including Competencies. 

  • Identify AWS partner programmes which would further develop the GFT channel partnership with AWS; i.e. Reseller; Marketplace; MSP etc. 

  • Working closely with the designated AWS partnership teams on all aspects of our joint Professional Services offerings focusing on both Enterprise and Corporate accounts across Financial Service, Insurance, and M&I industries. 

  • Build and further develop our key relationships with AWS, in particular having a wide and deep relationship with the key partner and sales personal including our key sponsors. 

  • Work closely with our global sales and delivery teams to ensure that we meet our partner revenue targets across industry segments. 

  • Promote GFT within AWS through having a thorough understanding of GFT’s cloud offerings and customer success stories. 

  • Work with our L&D teams; Practice Leads and International Delivery Units (IDU’s) to ensure GFT has the correct capabilities that match to AWS’s strategic product/solution direction. 

  • Work closely with our Delivery Management teams and Customer Engineers to ensure that the projects are visible within the AWS organisation. 

  • Analyse central reports including the GBD KPIs and Partner portal reporting to provide strategic business updates within GFT, and to steer the overall direction of our Partner Business Plan.  

  • Support the virtual team internally in GFT to keep track of commercial agreements - progress and liaise where necessary to keep on track. 

  • Liaise with GFT and AWS teams to solve issues, communicate needs and create synergy. 

  • Work closely with the wider GFT organisation across all Legal Entities in ensuring the relevant GFT teams are connected with the local Partner teams, aligned with the Strategic Partner Business Plan. 

 

 

What we require from you:  

  • High levels of strategic, commercial and entrepreneurial skills 

  • Ability to be a self-starter with limited oversight, energetic and a passion for technology 

  • Fundamental project management and planning skills  

  • Client engagement leadership experience   

 

Required Experience: 

  • Degree level 

  • Experience of prior partnership management in a technology environment 

  • Experience of, or exposure to sales 

Preferred Experience: 

  • Degree level in Computer Science/ Engineering  

  • Ability to present complex information to partners and colleagues in a clear and appealing manner and credibility at all levels. 

  • Experience working with channel partners, systems integrators and third party developers to deliver successful solutions. 

  • Experience of working in a Professional Services company
