Job Description

Our Ideal Candidate:


Is an experienced Scrum Master with Agile transformation and/or experience with working on technical projects. GFT is looking for a professional to facilitate the transformation of our business requirements into epics and user stories.  The Scrum Master must have a good understanding of the software development life cycle using the Agile approach to facilitate fluid and effective work with the Scrum Team. This position requires strong analytical and communication skills.   • Guides and coaches the Scrum Team on how to use Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services to our customers.
  • Gets team to a high performing level by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching and development techniques.
  • Responsible for ensuring Scrum is understood and the team adheres to Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines.
  • Facilitates and supports all scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
  • Resolves team impediments with cross-functional teams and escalates as required to project leadership to increase the effectiveness of the application of Scrum in the organization.
  • Maintains a solid knowledge base of the functional capabilities, simplifies and streamlines what was once a cumbersome, disjointed collection process by automatically incorporating data gathered across multiple channels and is a Subject Matter Expert on the various areas within the application.
  • Assists other areas in leading, directing, and reviewing all activities associated with delivering technology products.
  • Interfaces with others to define and document requirements for the product.
  • Assists others Scrum Master, Leads, and Project Manager with status reporting as requested by executive leadership.
  • Manages the product backlog with the Product Owner and different leaders to prioritize requirements, as well as define/manage the scope and sprints for the project.
  • Elicits, analyzes, specifies, and validates the business needs of stakeholders, be they customers, the project team, or end users.
  • Conducts interviews to gather customer requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.
  • Analyzes and verifies requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards.
  • Creates documentation including requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, feature descriptions, user guides, process flows, training materials, FAQ’s, wireframes, etc.
  • Creates process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team.
  • Communicates changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements — verbally or through written documentation — to the Leads, Project Manager,  Product Owner, Sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.
  • Responds proactively to both business and project issues and escalates appropriately.
  • Responsible for product quality, project timeliness, and customer satisfaction.


Skills Required:


  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of professional Scrum Master experience or 5 years of product development experience on an Agile Team.
  •  Must be an expert in JIRA and understand how to create stories.
  • Must have experience with initiative-level advanced roadmaps.
  • Extensive Scrum Master experience with multiple teams and ability to work with teams they are not familiar across Business Units.
  • Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills.
  • Adept at refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection, and other Scrum techniques.
  • Knowledge of agile frameworks (i.e. Scrum, Kanban), and understanding of software development life cycle models along with in-depth knowledge of Agile development principles and practices.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in business analysis, technology, business administration, or a related field.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of software development lifecycles including Agile development.
  • Experience working with both onshore and offshore teams.
  • Experience in dealing with multiple projects and cross-functional teams, and ability to coordinate across teams in a large matrix organization environment.
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills as well as creative problem-solving skills.
  • Possesses the ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment and act on it.
  • Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail and a penchant for process improvement.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure.
  • Ability to explain difficult concepts to non-technical users.
  • Demonstrated ability in applying repeatable quality assurance processes and methods to enterprise-wide technology projects or initiatives.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Visio, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
